Possible Side Effects

IV therapy is generally considered safe, but some mild side effects can occur:

  • Slight discomfort or bruising at the injection site
  • Cool sensation in the arm during infusion
  • Warm sensation or flushing
  • Lightheadedness
  • Nausea
  • Increased urination
  • Mild headache

These are considered MILD and should improve quickly. Following the aftercare instructions will ease the effects.

 Less common side effects include:

  • Infection at the injection site
  • Inflammation of the vein (phlebitis)
  • Allergic reaction (rare)

Aftercare Instructions

To ensure the best results from your treatment:

  • Hydrate well: Drink plenty of water for the next 24 hours
  • Avoid strenuous activity: Take it easy for the rest of the day
  • Keep the site clean: Leave the bandage on for at least 1–2 hours
  • Monitor the area: Watch for redness, swelling, or discomfort
  • Eat normally: A balanced meal can help support nutrient absorption

When to Contact Us

Please reach out to Balanced IV or a healthcare provider if you notice:

  • Increasing pain, redness, or swelling at the IV site
  • Fever
  • Ongoing nausea or vomiting
  • Dizziness that does not improve
  • Signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, difficulty breathing)
  • If you are concerned about symptoms or are unsure if symptoms are normal
